The Merchandise Planner, Product ensures that sales are achieving top line targets and prepares bottoms up forecast planning integrated with Merchandising Planning and Demand Planning forecasts. The Merchandise Planner, Product is responsible for providing pre-season, topline targets to channels for assorting and buying.

Essential Functions:

Pre Season - GBU Sales / Collection / DV

  • Support the Director of Merchandising to develop and communicate a comprehensive assortment strategy that supports financial goals.
  • Hindsight product performance and communicate needs for product development
  • Strategize Gift Sets for each key trading period
  • Provide trend, engraving program and store assortment foresight
  • Support E2E Cycle launch timelines to ensure deadlines are met

DV Level Plans (Forecast Model 2020)

  • Primary owner and manager of DV Forecasting: Bottoms Up
  • Drive enhanced Demand Plan with DV level sales forecasts
  • Sync to Tradling Line Up and Featured DV / Heros & Friends
  • Forecast market initiatives and activations
  • Commercialize the assortment + responsiveness
  • Identify and recommend DV’s to move to EOSS
  • Work w/ team to communicate final forecast
  • Manage Sales Planner

In Season – GBU Sales / Collection / Category

  • Monthly reforecasts based on sell out trends to ensure sales and inventory targets are in line with actual performance
  • Product lifecycle management

Analytical driver of ’one version of the truth’ on product performace to plan and LY SOG

  • Drive commercial performance through GBU structure and ensure merchandising performance KPIS are met (i.e., SOG%)
  • Weekly reporting / compiling / insights and presentation decks
  • Ad hoc projects / reporting

 

Something About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, Marketing, Supply Planning
  • 3-5 years of solid experience in merchandising and planning from retail, fashion, lifestyle or FMCG industry
  • Strong, seasoned, technical merchandise planner / OTB manager or with vertical retailing, omni experience
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, knowledge of OTB applications and replenishment and demand planning software and strong aptitude to learn technical applications (i.e., APTOS MFP) quickly
  • In-store, commercial experience a plus (Store Leader)
  • Strong command of English language
  • Relentlessly commercial and fact based and analytical – not put off by details
  • Strong business acumen
  • Analytical whiz and merchant eye - strong analytical skills with the ability to manage large sets of data and present results in a simple manner
  • Strong communicator with powerful point of view
  • Collaborative & team player – able to work cross-functionally and geographically and develop and maintain strong working relationships with peers and cross-functional teams
