The Merchanding Director leads and supports the Merchandising team and is responsible for Product strategies, assortment plans, DV forecasts. Supports the GBU structure and product development pipelines. The director is the eyes and ears of the customer for the GO and ensure the cluster needs are clear from an assortment line plan. The Director is a key leader within Merchandising team and with value chain partners. The Director must ensure excellent execution across all touch points of the go to market strategy.

Essential Functions:

  • Strategize, lead, manage and execute Cluster Product assortments to drive LFL performance across Cluster (and Markets)
  • Key partner and support with Global Merchandising teams
  • Hindsight product performance and communicate key cluster needs for product development according to product development timelines
  • Assess and adopt global assortment and ensure local development needs are incorporated
  • Champion new product development and innovation pipeline
  • Drive commercial performance through GBU structure and ensure merchandising performance KPIS are met (i.e LFL%, Adoption Rate)
  • Investment owner of new product (E2 forecasts in line with OTB budget)
  • Achieve sales, inventory, and adoption KPI’s
  • Ensure merchandising, marketing, and retail marketing, and sales operations teams have thorough communications about the Trading Line Up and Go to Market initiatives
  • Develop and coordinate Visual Merchandising ideas – in consult with GO direction, along w/ Cluster VM– to drive execution and sell out results
  • Always protect the brand framework
  • Commercialize the assortment + responsiveness
  • Lead, train, develop and motivate direct report(s)


Something About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, Marketing, Supply Planning
  • 6-9+ years merchandising, planning, and allocation and demand planning experience
  • 3-4 years managerial experience and talent development
  • Proficient in Excel, Power Point, knowledge of OTB applications and replenishment and demand planning solutions (TXT and Logility a +)
  • Merchandise Planning and management experience
  • In Store, commercial experience a plus (Store Leader)
  • Strong command of English language
  • Strong communicator and powerful point of view
  • Team player with strong conviction
  • Analytical whiz and strong merchant eye
  • Ability to get into the details when needed
