We have an exciting opportunity for a new ‘Retail Operations and Projects Associate’ to join the Retail Excellence Team. This role will suit an experienced and highly organised retail operations professional, with strong analytical and technical skills, and who thrives in a dynamic, growing and fast-paced environment. This is a London head office based position and reports into the Retail Standards & Operations Manager.

THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Overview

Responsible for supporting with the project management of new operational initiatives and the improvement of all existing operational processes and reporting whilst driving cost efficiencies across the department

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Supporting the Retail Standards & Operations Manager to project manage initiatives and implement new systems such as; POS systems, data insights and new reporting processes
  • Supporting the Retail Project Specialist to successfully and efficiently manage the implementation of all group and locally defined projects to deadline and budget. Ensure projects are reviewed post rollout and success measures evaluated
  • Working with the Loss Prevention Specialist and Regional Sales Managers to review and maintain owned & operated inventory processes including back office systems to protect stock accuracy
  • Build partnerships with local and global support functions (marketing, merch, HR, Procurement, Global Retail Excellence and etc) and work to mutual understanding of strategic goals. Explore and execute opportunities and innovations to deliver on global and local strategic goals       
  • Building and maintaining relationships with external suppliers such as; footfall camera maintenance, cash services, consumables providers and other retail analytics platforms
  • Appraise departmental supplier base performance to propose new objectives & strategy. Reviewing existing supplier contracts to drive a cost-focused culture across the department
  • Supporting Regional Sales Managers in designing and implementing store processes to support store compliance in both owned & operated stores and franchisee stores
  • Working across department and business functions on key focuses and share information to the wider business
  • Support with store opening/closing/transitions programme (as appropriate)
  • Demonstrate a proactive mindset and have the ability to plan projects and ensure their completion within a predetermined time frame
  • Ensure information required by key stakeholders is accurate and presented in a timely manner, including a summary, conclusion and recommendation where appropriate
  • Read and analyse available reporting to make data driven suggestions. Identify and explore commercial opportunities using data to help improve business results
  • Supporting the Retail Standards and Operations Manager and the Sales Director in the general day to day operations supporting the sales performance of our stores

 

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience working in a retail environment, using and managing back office systems required
  • Previous ‘project management’ experience preferred
  • Previous experience successfully managing suppliers and stakeholders with the ability to build and influence relationships with key stakeholders
  • MS Office proficient: with advanced Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint
  • Strong data management and analytical skills with the ability to extract and summarise complex data and processes effectively and sees the component parts, parallels, contrasts, and the root causes
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal)
  • Deep understanding of retail and store operations in order to ensure customer service excellence
