Pandora is looking for an experienced and skilled Head of Merchandising to help start up a new team focused on the Spanish market and realize the company’s vision as well as achieving important strategic goals. The role will be based in the city of Madrid and report directly to the Country Manager in Spain.

In this role  you will be responsible to manage and lead the local merchandising team to achieve the financial and operational targets and metrics laid out in the annual business plan.

You will be overall responsible for creating planning and allocation platforms that utilize both financial and product analysis to help ensure that company sales and profit objectives are met. As the Head of Merchandising you will also be responsible for Merchandising Operations reviews, process redesign and system selection/implementation.

 
MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
 
MERCHANDISING & STOCK MANAGEMENT
  • Responsible for the inventory position and in-stock target of the business
  • Develop and execute the merchandising strategy through the merchandising team
  • Working with the allocation and planning teams to approve orders and plans for assigned departments
  • Managing buying process to establish sales, margin and inventory plans 
  • Developing data management processes, open to buy requirements and review performance metrics
  • Integrating corporate goals into merchandise plans
  • Working cross functionally to improve business processes to enhance current merchandising, supply chain, forecasting and pricing processes in order to streamline processes and workflows
  • Monitoring weekly performance metrics
  • Conducting merchandising review for required inventory adjustments
  • Implementing improvements that address root cause issue to optimize inventory positions while meeting in-stock targets
  • Overseeing the allocation team which will be making decisions that will influence everyday sales in our stores.
  • Analyzing store inventory levels, product content and each store’s demographic requirements in order to make sound allocations that will allow strategic planning for the assortment of merchandise in all store locations
  • Ordering core merchandise and managing inventory levels at Store Levels
  • Completing operational analysis in all areas of the Merchandising department which include:  inventory analysis, purchase order review and tracking, seasonality and profile review and item ranking; while meeting key performance indicators
  • Developing of weekly and monthly replenishment reporting of key performance indicators
 
REPORTING
  • Ensure business information systems and personnel provide accurate and timely information relating to sales and sell-through
  • Overseeing the analysis of sales, margins, stock levels
  • Meeting internal customer requirements for business information and reports

DEMAND PLANNING & CATEGORY MANAGEMENT
  • Review and approve all high level demand planning
  • Help Sales in driving category improvements per account
  • Manage Category Department
  • Ensure high forecast accuracy
 
CONCEPT
  • Work closely with EMEA/CLUSTER, supply chain and design team.
  • Ensure that the PANDORA brand name is represented and adhered to with high concept standards and overall objectives
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with all internal colleagues.  In particular, close collaboration and communication with the function heads of the  Retail, Sales and Marketing divisions

 PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • High Mastery of Excel & AX
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Ability in merchandise planning and inventory management.
  • Demonstrable project management expertise
  • Experience in selecting and implementing systems solutions that support planning and allocation. (focus on fashion sectors of the retail industry such as specialty apparel, although experience in other retail organizations is an asset)
  • Sound working knowledge of business systems and data mining
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • A passion for retail and a strong internal and external customer focus
  • Passion for work and the product
  • The ideal candidate has strong experience in a similar role, in an international retail/fast fashion/life-style/beauty organization
